Hello friends and fellow Detroiters!

March is here, days are getting longer, and the excitement is growing in Detroit! Whether you're a native or new to town, there's no better month to experience all the fun and festive events the city has to offer. From Paczki Day to Opening Day, here's your guide to all the happenings around town this month!

1.Paczki Day - March 4th 

Paczki Day is Detroit’s own take on Fat Tuesday, where bakeries serve up delicious Polish doughnuts. Sweeten the day by supporting LOCAL!

2. 313 Day - March 13th 

Did you know there is a limited amount of 313 phone numbers left? Detroit will begin using 679 in 2025. If you're one of the lucky ones, grab a friend and celebrate everything that makes Detroit great! Along with events all over the city, Local 4, Raise the Flag Detroit and the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy are sponsoring a FREE celebration at Robert C. Valade Park. There will be music, comedy, food and prizes!

3. St. Patrick’s Day - March 17th 

Whether you’re enjoying the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Corktown, sipping Irish whiskey at the Old Shillelagh; get ready to wear your green because Detroit knows how to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day!

4. First Day of Spring - March 20th 

Say goodbye to winter and welcome the sunshine! Spring officially arrives on March 20th. Stop by the Color Bloc to get your home ready for all of your Spring color upgrades!

5. Marche du Nain Rouge - March 23rd 

Detroit’s favorite quirky tradition returns! Dress up, join the parade through Cass Corridor and help chase away the mischievous Nain Rouge. It's a fun, lively event that’s not to be missed. (and you might see us there!)

6. Tigers Opening Day - March 27th 

The roar of the crowd, the smell of hot dogs, and the crack of the bat—Tigers Opening Day is finally here! Get your tickets, wear your team gear, and enjoy a day at the ballpark to kick off the season. Eat em up Tigers!

March is the best month to be a Detroiter! So, grab your calendar and make sure you're part of all the fun. There's something for everyone!
